It is fascinating to me how we spend so much time with other people and never really know who they are. We all move so very fast these days.<br />I&#39;m enjoying your writing I work with Alzheimer&#39;s patients everyday and I myself deal with those very painful lower back and neck issues. What a tough subject to discuss. I lost my younger brother to murder at the age of 26. The costs were unbelievable. Funeral, loss of work and helping his wife(not able to work here because she is from Iceland) and baby.<br />My husband lost his 17 year old son to suicide..this cost my husband a bankruptcy and nearly his mind.<br />But it is so important to be prepared and have these discussions.<

It&#39;s such a hard thing to deal with and one that doesn&#39;t just affect the aged. I have a very good friend that still know&#39;s me, but is never alone. She has a full time care giver when her hubby&#39;s at work. There are no good diseases. Alzheimer&#39;s steals bits and pieces of the person at a time. I guess that is why I tried so many things so that I could still communicate with my Mother. <br /><br />I still keep looking knowing in time advancements will be achieved.

When I started this blog I saw it as a way to share what I had learned from taking care of my Mom. that is still true today, but I think it is wider than that. <br /><br />It is a place for people to learn more about care giving issues and have a place to find resources. My Grandmother has dementia and it makes me sad. I had a friend who&#39;s mother had Alzheimer&#39;s and I watched her try to be okay with it. <br /><br />I too fear that one of these diseases is in my future and it scares me.
